Active Holidays

There is no shortage of things to do in Chamonix in Summer. The valley is a verdant wonderland of opportunities for active holidays for adults and children alike. Amongst our guests favourite Chamonix activities are:

Climbing Chamonix

The birthplace of alpinism, it’s no wonder that Chamonix attract climbers from around the globe. Whatever your preference – high alpine, sun soaked rock or bouldering – then you’ll find your fill here. We have close contacts with local guides and instructors and can book guided days out, and group or private lessons for this and all the local summer sports.

Hiking Chamonix

The Chamonix Valley is breathtakingly beautiful and there are hundreds of miles of well-marked trails you can hike with routes suitable for all levels of fitness. Hiking Chamonix has the advantage too that in high summer you can let the lifts do some of the work, so you can take the downhill option if you choose!

The high alpine pastures are a riot of colour, the sound of cowbells fills the air and there’s no shortage of amazing wildlife to keep watch for – marmots, chamois, bouquetain and more. Walking on the trails is a floral delight with alpine species abounding and a world of butterflies.
